Summer in the Spring!

Well, we had every intention of doing lots of painting inside the house this weekend.  But when it's 75 degrees in March in Portland, you have to just get outside and play!

Nick and I both had Friday off, so we took a drive to the beach to enjoy the ocean air. 

 

 

And of course we had to stop at the Tillamook Cheese Factory for some ice cream!

 

Saturday we helped our friend Emma move and soaked up some Vitamin D in the process.  Sunday morning we had a wonderful, delicious brunch with the Keelings.  So much fun watching Emmett, Maggie and Georgia have their egg hunt. And the weather was perfect for sitting out on the back porch to enjoy the Spring sun.

This weekend is 22 Weeks!  In just 5 more weeks I'll be the third trimester.  Can't believe how quickly time goes.

Today is also my Dad's Birthday.  Happy Birthday Dad from the Watkins!!

This week I added some pregnancy fitness DVD's to my workout regimens.  Love me some Summer Sanders.

 



And we just got the phone call that our nursery furniture has arrived at Babies R' Us.  Can't wait to pick it up!

Paint!

Officially over halfway!!  This weekend we had early Easter dinner with the Watkins and Sudia's.  Looks like Nick's Mom Diana might be choosing to go by "Grammy".

We did a lot of organizing and painting over the weekend.  Nick completely re-painted our master bedroom, while I worked on cleaning out the office so it can become the nursery.  We've got the colors all picked out, so once we get the computer out of the room, we'll be ready to get to work.  And the baby furniture is on it's way!

(The office was already painted as a nursery from the previous owners, and we had never changed it.  Now it's time to make it our own.)

 

We'll also be re-painting the guest bedroom.  Can't wait to see everything come together.

Big Weekend!!

What a fun and busy week this has been!!  Friday we had our 20 week anatomy ultrasound.  It was so great to see our little one moving around, and see how much it had grown.  Weighing in at 11oz.  We asked the tech not to reveal the gender to us, and instead had her write it down and seal it in an envelope.  She was really great at telling us to look away every time she looked near the "gender" region.  Right after we left I zoomed to Wrightberry's bakery and gave them the envelope so they could bake the cake for our gender reveal party in the morning.  It was hard not to know all night and we really had to just put it out of our minds.

We had a fun little get together at Mindy's, and it was great to see everyone dressed up in either pink or blue.

 

The cake arrived and it was time to find out!

 

 

 

It's a Boy!!!

 

We are very excited for our little boy and can't wait to get to planning on everything else to come!

 

That night we had another party at Mindy's for a baby boy that is due to arrive three weeks before ours.  It was a baby day!

 

Sunday Nick, Baby-Rex (short for T-Rex, the baby's newest nickname) and I ran the Shamrock Run 5k.  It was crowded and crazy but we had a great time.

 

This next weekend will be filled with lots of painting...

 

 

 

 

 

Week 19

This week was busy and fun.  Wednesday I had a Dr.'s appointment, and my Sister Mindy came and joined me.  She wasn't able to stay for the whole visit (busy Dr. and all) but she and I played around with the Doppler a bit and listened to Baby's heartbeat.  It was really fun to share that together!  Everything went well at my appointment, heartbeat is 155 and everything is on track.  We've gotten all of our genetic tests back, and everything looks great!

Saturday we went snowshoeing up on Mt. Hood.  It was a gorgeous day, and warm enough that Nick was in a t-shirt and I was in a tank top.  Gotta soak up those rays when we can!

The rest of the weekend we mainly did house projects.  Who knew preparing for baby meant installing a new sink and re-potting plants?

This Saturday we'll find out if this little one is a Boy or a Girl.  Can't wait!!  We'll have plenty to share from our Gender Reveal Party. Can't believe we're just about half-way there!
