8 Weeks Later...

We have arrived at 26 Weeks!

By comparison; here is my picture from Week 18.

What a difference 8 weeks makes!  At 18 weeks, little Baby Rex was about the length of a small sweet potato, and weighed in around 8oz.  At 26 weeks, he is as long as an ear of corn, and weighs somewhere right around 2 lbs! We have a check-up appointment this week, and it will be nice to hear his heartbeat and talk to our Dr. about how he's doing.

And we have just under 4 weeks to go until we get to see all our Colorado people.  Can't wait!!

This weekend we did a little camping with Mindy and her boyfriend Jeff out on the coast near Astoria.  We also went clamming for the first time.  Though I'll admit I left the tough work (and the eating of the clams) to everyone else.  But we had lots of fun and surprisingly I was very comfortable for sleeping outdoors.  Bring on more camping!

25 Weeks

This weekend marked 25 Weeks.  Not much new to report.  I'm still feeling great, and not really having any problems.  I was having some pelvic pain from sitting all day at work.  Since my tailbone is broken, I don't sit back like most people.  Often I tilt a little forward, which was putting all of baby's weight and pressure on my pelvis.  But this week, I got a new chair!  It's a kneeling chair, so it helps take some of that forward pressure of baby off of me.

It's weird looking, but it's comfortable!

Here are some shots of my home away from home; my gym at work.  I don't know what I would do without this place!  It keeps me being one happy preggo lady! ;)

Casual Sunday Edition

6 Months! Woot woot!  Seems like such a milestone.  I know there is still a long way to go, but getting to this point feels like such an accomplishment.  And also managing to feel pretty great for 6 months.  Hope I don't jinx myself!

I can definitely feel how big baby is getting.  His kicks are much stronger and much more frequent.  Even Nick is getting in on the movement fun on a regular basis.  Last night we listened to him with the stethoscope, and Nick said he sounded like Big Foot.  That's our little soccer player!

Here's my belly pic for the week; comfy, lounging Sunday edition.  I pampered myself on Saturday with a hair appointment, and am loving the new do!  It's not much different, but it always feels great to great spoiled.

We managed to complete the nursery furniture!  It didn't wind up being as daunting as we imagined.  People kept telling us that it would take around 3-4 hours just to set up the crib.  We (once again, mostly Nick) managed to complete the dresser and crib in 2 hours, 15 minutes!

Now that we've done most of the hard stuff, we can get into some of the more fun things.
Shopping and decorating!!

Adventures in Painting...

23 Weeks!  Can you believe it?  In just one more short week we'll be at 6 months.  Woah!  It's all downhill (really uphill) from here.  I had an OB appointment this week, and Mindy was able to join me again.  We listened to baby on the doppler, and even got to hear him kick the doppler a few times.  Gave us both big grins.  Later that day Nick and I experimented with listening to baby with just a stethescope.  We were able to pick up some movement sounds, and a quiet heartbeat.  Hopefully we can begin to hear it more clearly with just the stethescope soon.

This weekend we took on the big project of bringing my nursery vision to life.  And when I say we, I mostly mean Nick.  I had an idea to do a chevron wall, which Nick executed beautifully!  I think it turned out even better than I had imagined!

TA DA!!

Nick also installed a new light fixture in the nursery.  It is coming together!

We also re-painted the guest room on Sunday.  Previously it was a bright green color; and one wall had bright pink sponging on it as an accent wall.  We decided it was time to tone it down.

I had fairly recently applied this great black chandelier decal to the wall behind the bed.  Since we knew it would be too difficult to remove and try to put back up, we decided to paint over it and then peal the decal off to reveal the green beneath.  It wound up leaving this shadow-y looking chandelier which I love!

Next weekend we are diving into the daunting task of assembling the baby furniture.  Yikes!!
