Movin' and Shakin'

39 Weeks!  We are at the finish line and approaching full steam ahead.  It's hard to believe that the time has finally come.  Now we're just waiting on Baby Rex to make his grand entrance.  Things have been progressing and happening, so hopefully we'll be seeing his face any day now.  We're definitely ready!!

Even though it seems that at any moment things will kick into high gear, and he could come at any time; I think it is still time for an eviction notice.

BABY EVICTION NOTICE
I, the Landlord (Mommy), am issuing a notice for EVICTION. Tenant (Baby) will have to comply and promptly vacate the premises, or wait until authorization for removal by physician. After which, he will be removed from the property by induction.
The Tenant (Baby) is being evicted due to breach of contract and destruction of property. Expansions only to the FRONT of the house, within reasonable limits, were discussed. Not only have these limits been exceeded, but additions to the back and sides of the house were also made without approval from the Landlord (Mommy).
Remodeling and gutting of the home was never approved, nor was changing the initial layout and base structure. Due to the damage by the Tenant (Baby), the foundation has been compromised, and the structural integrity of the house is questionable. The Landlord (Mommy) has also received numerous complaints about frequent nightly disturbances.
If the Tenant (Baby) doesn't comply with the notice it will result in an immediate and forceful removal at the discretion of a physician and the Landlord (Mommy)

We're ready to meet you little Rex, come and greet the world!!

Hot, Puffy and Swollen

I've spent the last 38 weeks cooking this little guy and getting him ready for the world.  Now the tables have turned and he is cooking me from the inside out!  I am officially a walking space heater; and no amount of AC, fans, ice packs or popsicles bring relief to the constant warmth.  I am puffy and swollen pretty much non-stop now.  Good thing the end is just around the corner!

I had a great time on my first week off of work.  I've gotten plenty done around the house, and am more than ready for whenever this little Rex wants to come into the world.  We had a busy weekend filled with Birthday parties, house warming's, and lots of family time.  And of course cheering on Dr. Mindy from a distance as she prepared to take her boards in Tampa.  Couldn't ask for more!  Hopefully we will have another reason to celebrate very soon.

This week I plan on doing lots of resting, and putting my feet up.  But also lots of walking to encourage Baby Rex to come on out.  Once we hit week 39, it will be time to serve him his eviction papers.  You've been warned!!

Full Term!

We've reached a milestone!  Our little Baby Rex is considered full term at this point.  Anytime he decides to make his appearance from this time on is just fine with us.  Though hopefully he'll keep cooking a little bit longer.  My Sister Mindy will be out of town taking her dermatology boards until the 23rd, and we wouldn't want her to miss his grand entrance!  At my last appointment I was 1cm dilated and 20% effaced.  We have another checkup this Wednesday and I'm hoping for some more progress.  Come meet us Baby Watkins!!

Don't forget to check out the poll my Sister has going.  You can vote on the baby's due date, weight, eye color and how many hours I'll be in labor.  Get voting!!

Watermelon?!?!

We're approaching the finish line soon (hopefully) and my What to Expect app is telling me that this little guy is a watermelon this week!  I sure hope not!  Though this week my back started to feel the weight of him, he's not feeling quite as big as a watermelon.  Yet.

This is my last week at work, and I am looking forward to the next couple weeks of downtime before this little guy arrives.  And hopefully I can get plenty of swimming time in during the next couple of weeks.

35 Weeks

We've been having a bit of a heat wave in Portland recently, so Nick and I put on our swimsuits and headed out to Sauvie Island to take a dip in the Columbia.  The water is still a bit chilly, but it felt good to be in the water in the 90+ heat.  And it was the first time I've gotten to bust out my polka dot maternity suit.  Can't wait for more days of swimming!
